ALBERTO
BARBIERI
I am a postdoctoral research fellow at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. I received my PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience and Philosophy of Mind at the University School for Advanced Studies IUSS Pavia. During that period, I was a visiting student at the Institut Jean Nicod (under the supervision of Uriah Kriegel) and at the University of Essex (under the supervision of Marie Guillot).
My primary research interests lie in the philosophy of mind, with particular attention to issues connected to phenomenal consciousness, self-consciousness, and the subject of experience. I am also interested in metaphysics. My current research focuses on the nature of for-me-ness (or subjective character) of experience and the relationship the latter has with other aspects of our conscious life (such as intentionality and the unity of consciousness).
